SHORT BIO
"The Nicole Duffell Quartet brings alive tunes that speak of life and transport you to the halcyon days of dark cool jazz clubs .. where time stops & all seems right with the world"
Nicole was classically trained from an early age on clarinet and saxophone, and is a graduate of the West Australian Conservatorium of music, majoring in jazz. Nicole has toured internationally as a session musician and has called Singapore home since 2002.
Almost twelve years ago Nicole started a long jazz residency at well-known whisky venue B28, with her organ trio featuring Oliver von Essen (Germany - NY - SG - Italy) on organ and Eddie Layman (NY) on drums - eventually taking over and running the venue as a jazz club, fondly known by locals as the “jazz institute” until 2018.
Nicole is known for her rich tenor sound, emotional depth and soulful melodies – she is a stalwart of the SE Asia jazz scene where she performs regularly as she continues her journey to dig deeper into the jazz tradition.
